Gorbeia Mountain

Monte Gorbeia, the highest peak in the Gorbeia Natural Park, is one of the most popular hiking routes. This challenging hike will take you through lush forests and alpine meadows up to the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Basque Country. The trail is well-marked and ideal for experienced hikers. Starting point: Belaustegi parking area.

Untzueta is one of the highest peaks surrounding the main center of Orozko. This route can be completed without the need for any vehicle, starting directly from the town center. The views from the summit are truly spectacular.

Kirikiñausi

The kirikiñausis (known as ericeras in Spanish) are traditional stone structures, usually circular, accessed through a small doorway that was sealed once filled with chestnuts. The harvested chestnuts—gathered using makeshift wooden tongs—were stored there to protect them from animals and to allow them to fully ripen. They remained in the kirikiñausis for one or two months until the nut naturally separated from its spiny husk.
The Supelaur Kultura Elkartea association has restored several of these enclosures, which can be visited on a delightful walking route.

Kolometa-Garrastatxu

Starting from the town center, this route ascends to Mount Kolometa, where you’ll discover the Kurtzegan menhir. The trail continues past Aranero Harria and descends through Garrastatxu, returning to Orozko along a route that offers spectacular views of the Gorbeia Natural Park.

This journey will take you through the Arraba meadows, one of the most beautiful areas in the Gorbeia Natural Park. The route circles around the Itxina massif, then descends along the slopes of Oderiaga, Kolometa, and Kurtzegan, returning to Zubiaur.
