It’s the entrance to the Park of Gorbea, the largest in the Basque Country! In its numerous neighborhoods you can find a rich historical and artistic heritage as well as fairs and local events that allow you to enjoy days of rest and fun.

Orozko is a territory located in the southwest part of the Bizkaia. It’s surrounded by towns like Arrankudiaga, Arakaldo, Artea, Zeberio, Areatza and Zeanuri in Bizkaia, and Zuia, Amurrio, Aiara and Laudio in Araba.

The valley is formed by the hills and peaks of Gorbea to the east and south, Castillo (Jesuri) to the west, and Untzueta to the north. The Altube and Arnauri rivers cross the valley to  flow into the  Nervión river.

The Gorbea mountain range (1475m) overlooks the entire valley with extensive vegetation  based on lush forests with trees such as beeches, oaks and other conifers. You can also find large meadows.

Itxina mountain range, located in the Orozko territory, has its own character. Its limestone landscape is spectacular and unstable at the same time, with numerous holes carved in the rock and caves. It’s one of the most beautiful, wild and rare areas of the Basque Country. The main cave is called “Supelegor” and many legends have originated from it. It’s supposed to be, according to mythology, the main residence of the creature called “The Amboto Mari” among others such as Lamiak

The surroundings of Orozko are preserved in their most natural state.

The numerous walks and trails for mountain biking will help you to discover the most beautiful parts of the area of Gorbea, the largest in the Basque Country.
